We honor the Zuckerman Family Foundation, and especially Mel and Enid Zuckerman whose founding gift established the College and has had far-reaching impacts on health and wellness in Arizona.

Honoree – Dr. G. Marie Swanson
We honor Professor G. Marie Swanson, founding Dean of the College and Professor Emeritus, who guided the college to accreditation and success in its early years, and led us into the location we call home in Drachman Hall as a lifelong champion of health equity.

We honor Dr. Richard Carmona, a MEZCOPH alum and an unparalleled public health leader, the 17th Surgeon General of the United States, who continues to be a champion for data-driven health policy and health equity here in Arizona and around the world.

We honor Dr. Carlos “Kent” Campbell, the first leader of the College and a trailblazer in global malaria eradication who has helped millions through his malaria prevention efforts.

Honoree – Dr. Mark Smolinski
We honor Dr. Mark Smolinski, a member of the first class to graduate with an MPH from the Arizona Graduate Degree Program in Public Health in 1994, and a passionate leader who has dedicated himself to disease prevention on a global scale through his work with the Skoll Foundation and his current public health advocacy organization, Ending Pandemics.

We honor Neelam Sethi, a global volunteer and philanthropist, who has made such a difference through her support of programs that improve health and build arts and culture here in our own Tucson community.

Honoree – Dr. Frank Marcus
We honor Dr. Frank Marcus, a renowned Arizona cardiologist and professor emeritus from the University of Arizona College of Medicine who has changed hundreds of lives by funding the Childhood Obesity Prevention Initiative, a set of programs delivered by the College to elementary school children in Southern Arizona to promote healthy lifestyles.
